Back From the dead

March 16, 2026

I am back from the dead. No, not recently, but I am back from the dead. It is mid-March. I haven't posted much in the last few years. Right? I know. I have neglected all of you. I hope you can forgive me.

Stories? Don’t worry. I am on it. The Ferryman is under renovation, and we will see some art for it when it returns. Currently, I am working on a Thanksgiving story. I’m happy with how it is turning out. I’ve been meaning to write it for some time. In addition, I am working on a new story, but I don’t know how long it will take. It is currently at 30,000 words, and I am about 1/3 into the plot. I can’t wait to show you, but I am considering entering it into a contest, so it may have to wait until the end of this year.

Around town, the temperature is winding up to usher summer into my world. Today is supposed to have a high of 800°F, and nonetheless, I am wearing a jacket. The buildings I work in are way too cold to run around in just a shirt.

A couple of friends visited this past weekend. I hadn’t seen them in years. We caught up over brunch. Rod and Analisa met up with Rod Sr. A lot can happen when you don’t see your people for five years. Lives change every day, so be sure to go and see your people. Life is short.

Regarding The Beggar’s Cup, there is more to that story coming. I had some thoughts about the characters and the plot turns. I feared there wasn’t enough motivation in the story, and that is why, in Chapter 6, Jason grew just a little wealthier.  I promise, more is coming. It is turning into something bigger than I expected. Please leave a comment if you have questions or comments.

Yes, this is a new version of the old website. The old website had run its course, and now we have this stylish, shiny new site. But speaking of sites, I am in the middle of migrating my old Author’s site and integrating it into mayachrome.com. dpaulfonseca.com is now gone. Very soon, GhostDojo.com will also be under the umbrella of Mayachrome.  If you like true ghost stories, and/or have one to share, check out GhostDojo.com.

More to follow,
